We design programs and training for better health

Madeline Freeman: Hi I’m Madeline, and I’m the owner and founder of Better Health Company. Like everyone I’ve had my own unique experiences with health and the health care system over the years both for myself and for the people I love. And while those experiences were challenging and difficult in different ways, looking back they really taught me that more than anything your health is everything.

Being healthy and feeling well gives you the ability to do all the things that you love with the people that you love and helps create a life that makes you truly happy. But the opportunities to achieve good health aren’t always equal for everyone and there are too many people in all types of communities who need support information and encouragement to help them on their journey towards better health.

Information and education is empowering because once you have the skills and tools and information you need to create your best version of a healthy life, there’s no limits to what you can achieve so that’s what Better Health Company does. Quite simply we help people live healthier lives.

We believe that everyone should have access to Better Health and we help people achieve that in whatever way works for you. Our team of qualified health professionals create amazing services that offer something for everyone. Health is not a one-size fits-all model, and good health means different things to different people. So we provide options that are as unique as you are.

All our services are evidence-based and we’ve been researching our work for over 15 years. More than 50,000 people have participated in our programs and services now so we know they work. We see and hear the amazing results from our participants every day.

When life is so busy with constant distractions and demands, it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters and what matters is your health and the health of your family and friends. When you have the right support and information you have the power to make choices every day that support your wellbeing and help you live the life that you want there’s nothing more important than having better health.

Isabella Fedele: Hi my name is Bella, I’m a Dietitian at Better Health Company. My role involves leading the design and development of all our programs, products and services.

At Better Health Company we believe in a holistic approach to health. The term ‘holistic’ seems to be thrown around a lot in the health industry. But to us, ‘holistic’ means a multidisciplinary approach that incorporates good nutrition, movement, mindfulness, emotional wellbeing, and strong social connections with family and friends. We know these elements are often intertwined – it’s hard to focus on one element without considering the impact on the others.

In all of the work we do, we focus on providing whole person care. We do this by putting the people and families we work with at the center of everything we do. While the aim of our programs and services is to help people form healthier lifestyle habits, we know this isn’t possible without considering everything else that’s going on in a person’s life. And we know this is important in order to help people form healthy habits that are actually sustainable.

One of our core beliefs as a business is ‘innovation is essential to improve and evolve’. At Better Health Company, innovation is in our DNA. We started operating in Australia over 15 years ago and we’ve come a long way since then. Our programs and services have evolved, and a big part of my role and the team I work with is to ensure we keep making continuous improvements to the products and services we offer, to make sure all recommendations and guidance we provide, align with the most up to date evidence and published literature.

One thing that truly sets us apart is our commitment to inclusivity. We strive to provide healthcare to those who may need it most by partnering with government departments. This allows us to extend our reach and support individuals from low socio-economic backgrounds, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We recognise there is no one-size-fits-all approach to health. We make sure our services are thoughtfully designed to be inclusive and adaptable, catering to diverse needs. And where possible, we go a step further incorporate co-design initiatives with by engaging with the people and communities we serve.

Our approach is holistic

To provide whole person care for better health.

Our holistic approach prioritises comprehensive health and wellbeing. We integrate nutrition, physical activity, behaviour change, social support and emotional wellbeing into all of our programs and services. Committed to inclusivity, we partner with government funders to extend our reach to individuals who need our support the most including those from low SES backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and NDIS participants. Additionally, we offer publicly available products and services so accessible, credible resources are there for anyone striving for better health.
