They take the overwhelming health advice you may receive from your doctor, specialist, or other health professionals and turn it into practical, achievable steps. The goal? That one day, you won’t need a health coach. You’ll have the tools and confidence to piece together your health puzzle on your own.
A person-centred approach
Our coaching approach is all about you. We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach because we know that health is deeply personal. Our health coaches work with individuals and families to set goals that matter to them, ensuring that changes fit seamlessly into their lives.
Our team is made up of highly qualified health professionals, including dietitians, exercise physiologists, psychologists, social workers, and physiotherapists. But more than that, they’re specialists in behaviour change. Every health coach at Better Health Company completes our rigorous Health Coach Training Program, accredited by the Health Coaches Association of Australia and New Zealand (HCANZA). This means they’re not just knowledgeable about health, they’re skilled in helping people navigate daily life barriers to put their health goals into action.
What to expect from a Health Coaching session
All our health coaching sessions are delivered via phone, making it easy and accessible for you. At the time of your appointment, your health coach will give you a call. If it’s your first session, they’ll start by getting to know you asking about your health, your goals, and what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past.
One of the most important things to know is that your health coach won’t tell you what to do. Instead, you’ll work together to create a plan that fits your life. Most people already know what they should be doing, it’s the how that’s tricky. If you prefer a more structured approach, our team can also provide health education, tailored resources, and fact sheets to support you. And if you need extra support beyond coaching, we’re well connected with community services and can refer you to the right resources.
