Snack ideas with less than 3 ingredients!

Having healthy snacks available at home or when out and about can be a great way to save money and maintain healthy habits at the same time. And sometimes, the best snacks are the simplest ones. Snacks with no more than 3 ingredients can be both easy to make and incredibly delicious.  

Below we have complied 5 snack ideas that require minimal effort and just a handful of ingredients. 

Banana peanut butter bites
Chop some ripe bananas into slices and spread a small dollop of natural peanut butter over the top. Sprinkle with optional fruit or chocolate chips and keep in the freezer for a nice cool snack!

Roast banana chips
Chop some ripe bananas into 0.5 – 1cm thick coins; dip into orange juice and place in single layer on baking tray; bake in the oven at 100 degrees Celsius for 3 – 4 hours; make sure to flip throughout baking; optionally coat with cinnamon or other fruit and enjoy! Can also use with other fruits such as apple or pear slices!

Cheesy veggie cupcakes
Whisk eggs in a bowl with salt, pepper, and spices of your choosing; add finely chopped tomato. Pour mixture evenly into oiled muffin/cupcake tray and sprinkle cheese of your choice on to. Bake in oven at 190 degrees Celsius for 10 – 15 min until egg is cooked through. Try some of these combinations: Capsicum & Cheddar; Spinach & Feta; or Tomato & Goat Cheese!

Fruit skewers
Chop desired fruit (eg: banana, strawberries, apple, kiwi, mango) and thread onto a skewer. Store in an airtight container. Great for convenience and transport. TIP: coat with small amount of lemon juice to keep fresh for longer. Can also do the same with vegetables!

Green Smoothie
Combine spinach, coconut milk, and frozen pineapple chunks in a blender. Pour into a glass and enjoy! Experiment with different milk and frozen fruits!
